Nøkken (Nordic): shapeshifting water spirits, often musicians who lured people near water with haunting melodies

These beings weren’t just part of bedtime stories — they were deeply woven into the relationship between people and the land. Springs were often blessed or protected with offerings, and water sprites were respected as guardians of natural balance.

Mist rolls in, even when the weather is clear

If you’re out exploring near streams or springs, be respectful, speak softly, and maybe leave a small offering like a flower or polished stone. You never know who might be watching. 🌾
